I agree about weekend voting. Virginia allows early voting the last two Saturdays before election day and turnout numbers are always high.

I understand there are jobs that have to work holiday or not, but making it a holiday does help. Virginia has early voting for 45 days, personally I think that's too long, 20 would be enough. Plus we made it a State holiday and since many of our polling stations are in schools it does help.
