Courage is fear faced with resolution. Benjamin Franklin said “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” Come and get me, you effers.

Mike Pence used to smile adoringly at Donald Pence, and look where that got him. Nearly hanged, along with his wife and daughter, and on Trump’s say so. I think Mr. Mayor Elect is smart enough to understand this.

Good observation. MTG sees herself as #TrueMaga & imagined Trump as their savior. She now sees him, and them, as #NewMAGACult , owned and willing to die bleeding for Trump personally, who will sell them out in a NY minute, and is.

Maybe she’s smarter than we think. Even in jail (as I understand it she has plenty of access to the outside world) she have realized that her pal Trump will put a knife into her in a NY minute. When I write “knife” I mean literally. If Epstein told her anything, it was that he cannot be trusted.

In my experience, there’s always an underlying personal advancement agenda, generally involving hiding something terrible. Always.

There’s a first time for everything. It’s possible MTG’s conversion is real.

I’m 76 and believe the best of people, until they prove me wrong. In politics, they frequently do.

I have NEVER seen seen a genuine soul conversion, where someone essentially evil and hateful realizes they were wrong.

I’ve seen this pattern before. As a student in D.C. I watched Nixon try to crush dissent—with mass arrests and constitutional violations later struck down in court.
The lesson from 1969 and 1971 is simple: When citizens stand up, overreach collapses.

TACO: Trump Always Chickens out Letter Home, US Coast Guard Edition

Yesterday the Coast Guard backed off a plan to stop classifying swastikas and nooses as hate symbols. Public pressure reversed it within hours. Full Substack here ⬇️

The US Coast Guard tried to undo the plan to quietly downgrade swastikas and nooses as "not hate symbols." Public outrage and publicity stopped it in hours. We've been here before, and history shows what happens when we stop paying attention. I saw it first hand--1969-1971.

Congressional Republicans Begin to Look Beyond Trump

Really? Too late. Every Republican—House&Senate—x4 went along w/ the Trump shutdown, the chaos he’s brought to everywhere, and hiding the Epstein files.

The stench of being a #pedoprotector will cling to them for the rest of their lives. “Congressional Republicans Begin to Look Beyond Trump”

She’s making a start at least, which is far more than I can write for all but three of her Republican Congressional colleagues.

The ones who finally voted YES on the Epstein disclosure bill to avoid the tag #molesterprotector do not count.

or a senior who croaked, God would never forgive me.

Hell, I would never forgive me.

A discount on my health insurance, and from my concierge physician, would be really nice.

If I got sick, perhaps long Covid, we’d have to sell our house and move to a retirement community. and IF gave it to some kid who ended up with God only knows what permanent, unfixable disability (the jury is still out)

The hubs is nearly completely disabled now and I’m the sole carer. I’ve had to give up a lot, and do so willingly, but not without resentment. Restaurants, movies, concerts, indoor events, travel. The only exception is church on Sunday, where I’m an usher. I mask, invariably.

It would NOT be necessary if sick people stayed home or masked in public and we spent some of that money Trump is shipping to billionaire donors on proper air cleaning technology in all public spaces.

PROBABLY would prevent me from dying (I’m 76 now) or getting long Covid, but definitely would not prevent me from being infected, and possibly infecting someone else. Back came the mask. It never left. I’m sort of used to it but resentful of the necessity.

I thought, once I got the first two vax, that I was vaxxed and could relax, and briefly gave up the mask, until it became obvious that the vax

Kelly, what a great idea. I locked down the house on 3/17/2020, when I could see hospital rates rising and people trapped endlessly on gurneys in ER hallways. The hubs was scheduled for major surgery, which ended up being postponed for six months anyway.

I took an oath of office on 2/16/1975. I promised to support and uphold the constitution.

My husband took the same oath. So did my parents, who both enlisted during WWII. So did our son, who enlisted in the USMC. I remain loyal to it and the Constitution of our nation.

That oath never expires.

Maybe he’s puffing for the next edition. (I believe the paperback updated edition will be out sometime next year).

Or maybe he’s exaggerating.

Or maybe he’s telling the truth.

On TV he frequently mentions how many things he dug up or found out that he had to leave out because “of the lawyers.” I think I heard him say unless he had too independent sources, he didn’t use it.

Lownie is quite careful. I read “Entitled” It was footnoted and sourced to the point of being a nuisance. He had more references than I did on my master’s thesis. (TBF, his book was longer than my master’s thesis).

Excellent assessment.

Time will tell, and I think given the way this thing is blowing up (like an exploding supernova) time is measured in weeks, not lifetimes.

We’ll know soon.

Not so much that but the fact that he came second or more, and that he was poling another man’s leavings.

Mary Trump tells us that DonDuck is a misogynist. He wants plenty of women, but only to marry a virgin.

What a putz.

Keep in mind that “religious traditionalists” refers to the moral standards of the Old Testament: multiple wives, child molestation, child murder and all.

Plus the fact that no woman could stand up to one of those so called religious men without being murdered.

No wonder they like one another.
