ICE is going after people who commit fewer crimes than U.S. born citizens. They're robbing people, hurting people, using racial profiling, violating due process, hurting children, and going after American citizens while they do. This is an illegal criminal enterprise from head to toe.

The quality of individual legislators matters. But it matters less than their numbers. 60 mediocre Democrats in the Senate is better than 45 excellent Democrats. Ideally of course you'd have 60 excellent Democrats but politics is almost never ideal. (And I'm being generous with that almost.)

The Supreme Court, Presidency, Senate and two party system are all quite anti-democratic institutions as presently constructed.

Our institutions are not only incapable of preventing tyranny—they’re currently enabling it.

When democracy returns, we need to reform our political system.
