Does this mean we might be able to lower dementia rates by changing the fat provided in our food systems. Possibly. As always, potential confounding and caveats need to be explored. We should try to get some research going. We have more to learn, but maybe policy trials will be in our future.

On an individual level, there is evidence that excess Omega6 PUFA intake can increase the risk of chronic diseases related to inflammation, including Alzheimer’s. This is practically a tautology if you are aware of the biochemical pathways.
