Deeply disappointing by CMA. Does nothing to address the regional monopolies established by big groups acquiring local practices, leaving pet owners no choice. Or the way they give vets targets on procedures and profit per pet (as reported by BBC File on 4 in April) which undermines trust.

Exactly so. The quantity of misinformation being pumped out is appalling. And itโ€™s then followed up with town centre vox pops with the anxious consumers of the misinformation, amplifying and โ€˜legitimisingโ€™ it and generating yet more heat without light.

Pelican crossing lights daubed with the St George cross have been turned, by today's biggest hero, into what looks like slices of Battenberg cake.

Love so much of what you do and the take no sh**! with which you do it. But really??? Give it a break. Just encourage more solo female dog walkers.

Mad myths not confined to London. In our quiet town in NE Scotland was told in horrified tones we were on the cusp of being swamped with dangerous asylum seekers!?** We do have a Turkish barber though. Heโ€™s a joy and entirely safe with sharp implements (his close shave is sheer luxury, Iโ€™m told).

Terrifyingly true. Beyond question, the principle that drove the founding of the NHS is worth defending for all its modern day flaws. (And, yes, it was founded). Sure, we can look to other healthcare systems for good practice, but letโ€™s learn from the privatisation horrors, too. Iโ€™m still clapping.

But as the article makes clear, that feeling of alienation has a number of very different causes, not just immigration which was takeout from the speech.

Cindy McCain, head of World Food prog, @wfp.org calls out Israel for politicizing and using food as leverage in Gaza. โ€œRight now, weโ€™re not getting any food in - no food has been delivered since March 2nd. The last usable food dried up ten days ago.โ€ Says this needs to be dealt with politically.

Itโ€™s for sporting bodies to make decisions on tournament venues,โ€ said a government spokesman this week, which is less of a denial about what theyโ€™ve tried to do and more of a statement of fact about how little they should be able to. Bad enough, though, if they tried. If our government lobbied like this for some Middle Eastern sheikh or African warlord, it would be a scandal. For all that Trumpโ€™s presidency has upended everything about everything, this is no different. Giving the guy a state visit might be weak, but giving him a golf tournament would be dirty. You know this and the government knows this. And a hundred and two days ago, the White House would have known it, too.

On the unabashed corruption of the British government lobbying for a tournament to be held at Trump's own golf course. Includes no golf jokes.

Great perspectives - tragic that marketeers still think the milestone means cruises, woolies, sensible shoes and funeral plans. As Sheena Blackhall says: โ€˜grannies are punks nowadaysโ€™. Happy birthday!

It is a brilliant assessment of misguided political focus. (And worth the tedious account- setting process to read for free) - honest!

We only finished paying off the last lot of reparations (for US support in WW2) in 2006.
