I haven't gotten to do much character design in my career so far, so it was quite fun to get to design a bunch of the NPCs who call Spirit Crossing home.
One thing you learn is that sometimes after 20 different hairstyles, your original plan was not too bad after all
In case you've been like "wow justin sure is posting about Spirit Crossing a lot"- it's because the spinout from Netflix means we are indie once more, and not only that- but are now joining the ranks of employee-owned indie studios! A very big step.

Something positive: Spry Fox is spinning out of Netflix. We are independent (once again!) and preparing to launch Spirit Crossing.

One thing I've always been fond of is our windows.
Having contiguous exterior\interior spaces was important to us- but early on we realized interiors needed different ambient light from the exterior to feel properly cozy
I renewed at the West Seattle one recently and it was really smooth. I had an appointment but I saw walk-ins getting served almost as quickly. They've up their UX game!

Yeah, you could even combine it into a single spectrum/meter thing with "Passive" on one end and "Active" on the other, and you shift a needle along it based on your actions. Sort of like a stance-based fighter, only your "stances" are value bands on the meter.

(...incidentally, it's very legal in Spirit Crossing)

BTW, Spirit Crossing is coming to Steam. The goal is to create a major Cozy MMO with a huge population of folks making friends in a safe and welcoming space.
