A rough draft with some design research and thumbnails

My sketching process is chaotic and every changing from one piece to the next. (In other words : idk what I'm doing-)

A fantasy reimagining of the classical painting "Girl with Pearl Earing" by Vermeer. Here she have an armor under her clothes. She also have a huge flail like weapon resting one her shoulders but with a massive pearl dangling from the chain. She is looking somewhat pissed off. Her name is written in the background : Parel, the Crystal Paladin.

I have a ton of character in dire need of an update as I'm learning new stuff in art, one drawing at the time.
A lot of my characters are inspired by myth and history, but also sometimes classic piece of arts.

A close up of two chibi head, one is pale white with crimson hairs (Bloody Mary), the other is blue and stern (Yuki Ona). The red one is hugging the blue one all happy, while the other is just grumpy at the situation.

I never thought about giving them a preferred type, but what I do know is that whatever Ona's was, Mary was definitively not that-

As for the others, it really depends : Some do, other don't. And one is into every types so that's kinda cheating.
