i didn't realize "commuter school" actually meant "completely inaccessible to students who live off campus and work a full time job during regular hours”

after not being able to wear my favorite perfume since i bought the larger size because it didn’t smell right, it now smells like it did before and i am beside myself with joy.

we had to drive back to portland after the game last night and promptly slept for 10 hours. it was brutal! how am i supposed to do my grad school homework with this emotional hangover?

Portland will not bend to Trumpism. We will not be shocked into compliance with his overtly racist, and violent attacks on our most vulnerable neighbors. We must get organized and refuse to allow his authoritarianism to be normalized in our city. Use your voice, be smart and safe, and stand strong.

I really can’t keep screaming that we cannot go on as normal without people tuning it out but I must.

We are in immense danger and the fascists are only becoming more brutal and more emboldened.

We must sacrifice comfort in the short term or we will endure pain for decades.

I also hope we don’t forget all the local folks who’ve spent years spreading the “portland is a hellhole” narrative to gain short-term political power and/or social media clout.

When the Trump administration deployed the National Guard in DC, restaurants and small business retail fell by over 30% that's not what Portland needs right now. The chamber is made up of over 2200 members, most of them small businesses, and they're all throughout our city. Downtown has seen a big increase in the amount of foot traffic that it has seen. These are all positive signs of the recovery Portland is making right now. So basically, this is bad for business, and it will set back the progress our city has been making over the last few years. I guess on a personal appeal and everything, I think what we should do to combat this is go out and support our neighborhoods. Go out and support downtown. Go and visit all the small businesses in the neighborhood. We have a great weather this weekend, and it's a great time to go out and support local businesses. Fubonn has been supported. We're coming up on 20 years right now, and it's because of everyone in the community coming together to to be a part of it. So it's time for us to go back, love our city, love our neighbors, and just be Portland."

The Portland Metro Chamber, which over the past five years has constructed the narrative that Portland is a crime-infested city where you can't go anywhere to feel safe, said in a press conference that Portlanders should fight against Trump's deployment of federal agents by purchasing more things.

instead of reading “asking for food” by brain helpfully decided to read it as “asking for god” which feels like a totally different drawing.

the drop in quality between vienna’s public transit and trimet is worse than falling off a cliff.

i read this book in a weekend! it was such a fun read. i loved the level of detailed minutiae included about actually running a magical school, things like risk reports and staff meetings.

looks like my vienna vacation was just extended two days (my flight was cancelled and the next flight they can put me on departs on wednesday)

i know! next time i’m at the doctor im going to ask if there is an equivalent or if i can get like a prescription for extra strength topical benzocaine and do this combo at home.

i upgraded to insecticum which is a brilliant combo of like orajel and benadryl for numbing and antihistamines, still no match for these bites. but an improvement for sure.
