I spoke with over 100 amazing 1st, 4th & 5th graders at a local Sacramento elementary school. We talked about our favorite #kidlit books, shared smiles & spread @givingtuesday.bsky.social bookmark joy! Each student was given a brand new story to keep & cherish.📚❤️

Today I gave over 100 new books to 1st, 4th & 5th graders at a local Sacramento elementary school. I read a story, talked about the magic of books & shared my bookmark initiative! Stories have the power to change lives & If I can inspire even one child to read, I know I’m on the right path!

The books in this video are heading to local classrooms of 1st, 4th & 5th graders, each with a special Giving Tuesday handwritten inspirational bookmark crafted by children from all over the country! ❤️📚

Spent my day giving over 600 new children’s #books to kids in need in the Sacramento area. Over 1500 people signed up to attend Sacramento Mayor McCarty & Vice Mayor Talamantes’ Annual Backpack giveaway! It was incredible watching so many organizations come together to give back to the community.
