Both Labor and the Australian media are working very hard to make everyone think that recognising a state of Palestine is a consequential moment that will impact what’s going on in Gaza.

In reality it’s only happening so the government can deflect the demand for sanctions.

Recognition of Palestine should have happened decades ago and is a fundamental right that the Australian Government has denied for too long.
