13.11.2025 14:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The car brand is beloved, but the software story is incomplete. If the VW/Rivian joint venture works out Iβm sure licensing out the tech will be highly lucrative. Iβve heard mixed things on the success of legacy OEM x Silicon Valley thinkingβ¦
13.11.2025 14:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ford has been pretty public that F-150 Lightning for example was built as a stopgap. Their βground upβ platform promises lower assembly cost, streamlined design, the works. I think the reality is no one could compete with Tesla , then BYD, on cost for years and this is what we get.
13.11.2025 13:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The car makers have been agonizingly slow but the way theyβve been building them they canβt produce cheaper models. Regulatory creep and consumer expectations of bigger, more capable vehicles (and the much publicized range anxiety) havenβt helped.

11.11.2025 22:48 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I have a hard time believing Apple Maps EV routing will work as well as the fairly mature and proven Google system for instance. Know several people with Fords who have tried it and found it lacking. Iβm sure plenty of OEMs will find value in still offering CarPlay as option though

"Now, U.S. manufacturers rely on foreign entities of concern, resulting in GOP backlash in Washington, DC, and have to play catch-up as affordable EVs become a key to unlocking greater #EV adoption."

To be fair, German manufacturers arenβt much better with their trim packages or options for ICE vehicles π
14.05.2025 21:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes but itβs wasteful to put in slow chargers that will be dated in five years for some marginal savings. With infrastructure when you deploy it you want it to last as long as possible. 350+ kW charging should be the minimum at this point.
08.05.2025 19:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Itβs important not to have a scarcity mindset with this stuff. Weβve already made leaps and bounds! No need to be stuck in old tech when cost is coming down and thereβs more competition.
08.05.2025 16:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I agree that L2, in urban and multi family contexts especially, is critical, but I donβt see how it sucks the air out of the room. ~100kW charging units shouldnβt be made anymore. Economics and tech move on. 350 kW cabinets can provide slower kW while being future proof
08.05.2025 16:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It wonβt be overnight but I canβt see why not. Utilities, transformers, and the grid evolve. Even if the peak usage is super demanding you can supplement with batteries to buffer.
08.05.2025 16:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Itβs a technological showcase and not ready for scale yet but I donβt think itβs controversial to say we should be pushing the envelope of battery tech and DC charging speeds if EVs want to replace ICE vehicles. Consumers do demand it, regardless of how many *need* it.
