Horror does, and honestly, it was pretty good. They clearly had a lot of fun making it.

Not to mention, the seriousness with which they play entirely silly concepts its great. Freaky for instance, was every bit the comedy that it needed to be, in addition to being a sort of bog standard slasher flick.

Who thinks "lets cross freaky friday with a slasher flick and see what happens"

It is my opinion, that horror (and its subgenres) is perhaps one of the most underrated genres of film.

Its hard to be consistently scary, or spooky, or tense. And some films manage to nail that. And then the creativity of the way scenes are shot is nothing short of awesome.

I feel like a lot of folks think they hate reading because their earliest memories of it are being forced to read books that adults told them were important, but didn't resonate with them, and instead they were graded on completing said reading.

Wild how people like things when not forced.

Agreed. It's a "skill" issue. (Skill in this case meaning a very toxically skewed perspective which treats people as sex objects, and not... people.) They'd be doing themselves a favor by watching some rom coms or reading some romance books rather than listening to these "alpha males".

Never got to say a proper good bye, so it felt right to make the dedication to my book that deals with the underworld and death and dying to be the one I dedicated for him. Big feelings tonight. Thats for sure. Didn't expect to be tearing up today.

My family is doing their best to share my good book news. Which is great, but I'm also hit by a major wave of sad. My great aunt Sue just shared it, and I don't think she knows that I dedicated the second book to my grandfather, even though he had already passed by that point. He died suddenly.

Listen, not only do I already own each in my personal collection, but I also love them so much I carry her books when I go to vending events! Worth every second of the read.

As someone who has bought her books, and believe in them so much that I carry them at MY author events, please check her works out!

make a point. My pick. Horror... because its all about the expectation and the *to date myself* anticipi...pation. My point to her, that I only realized while finding the comparison, was that her scenes would benefit from having more tension. More build up to it, rather than being too direct.

Probably premature to tell people this, but it's too exciting not to! I'm officially on the shelves of a bookstore! Thank you Sherman's of maine.

Main character likely will start with a weak one, or none at all. Still need to do a lot of fine tuning and plotting to this. Not sure what the duration will be, but I do have an ending in mind.

There are four categories of them: Grand, established, weak, and unique.

And thats about all I came up with yesterday. Still thinking on overall character designs as well. I had a vision at first, but I feel like I want to pull some different influences.

People are born with them or without. Those born with are starting with an advantage, but all folks can "awaken" or "Strengthen" their magic to the point of manifesting a crest through magical and spiritual rituals.

Additionally: magical creatures and divine beings may impart crests as well.

idea of doing some sort of "magic crest" system. Except I don't want to make it only inherited, as that puts a lot more emphasis on bloodlines than I want to place into this particular story.

I do still want that to be an aspect, but here's the rough set up I'm thinking.
