Remarkably,this little mammoth carved from mammoth ivory about 40,000 years ago was recovered from the excavation spoil at Vogelherd Cave, some 70 years after the original excavations (Tübingen Museum)

It was done in the museum of siberian ice age, and there was nothing to sit on and the ipad is heavy, and the lady there was complaining that i stand in front of things too much. Whoops.

Behind them, a rising sun forms an aureole, illuminating the scene. They are surrounded by large wading birds, seemingly accompanying the melody. The warm tones evoke the lingering atmosphere of long summer nights.

I had the immense pleasure of creating the cover art for Alcest's 7th album, "Les Chants de l'Aurore". Neige asked me to reinterpret Sydney Long's beautiful painting "The Spirit of the Plains".
