I’ll be finishing my MA in history this spring and I’m curious to learn more about historical consulting as a possible path, and how you got started it in!

I, in contrast, believe that bringing to light human suffering that has occurred in the past allows us to shape a more compassionate future, a far more worthy goal than propping up a nationalism based on half-truths.

Teaching those facts isn’t “unpatriotic” unless your definition of patriotism includes freely rewriting history to pretend bad things never happened.

AHA research indicates that US history teachers are focused on teaching children basic, factual information about US history. Unfortunately, basic, factual US history includes enslavement of people of African descent, forced removal of indigenous people, & exclusion of women from the right to vote.🧵

I would do this if I was still an undergrad! Harks back to my first summer after college which I spent at Kino Border Initiative in Nogales.
