We are releasing a new report that maps this momentum:
Local Climate Action Plans in Minnesota
A statewide overview of where we are now, what’s working, and what comes next.

Federal rollbacks and uncertainty make local leadership more urgent than ever. Cities and counties are moving forward regardless — because the costs of inaction are already here.

From Saint Paul’s EV Spot Network to geothermal district energy in Rochester, local governments are proving that clean energy solutions are cost-effective, practical, and scalable statewide.

These plans are not symbolic. They are driving measurable climate progress across the state: lower energy costs, stronger infrastructure, improved air quality, and new clean energy jobs.

Minnesota communities are stepping up and taking climate action into their own hands. Today, 26% of Minnesotans live in a city with a Local Climate Action Plan — and 31% live in a county with one.

We will all be less without her, and we must see the violence that took her from this world as a reason to be more. We must be brave, we must be committed to a better world, we must be more like Melissa Hortman.

She worked tirelessly to help elect people who shared her values and even harder to ensure they brought home the kinds of change we need.

Her humility means that most people outside of the capitol don’t understand just how large her role was. She was never eager to take credit for her work—but her commitment to the work never wavered.

There is no way to overstate the importance and impact of Melissa Hortman. Her brilliance, values, and commitment to making Minnesota a better place lit the way for wins that improved all of our lives.

Today friends from across the state showed up at the capitol to tell representatives to stay strong in their boycott of the #mnleg session until a power-sharing agreement is reached.

Voters fought hard to make Minnesota a better state for everyone, and we won’t let those protections be taken away.

Yesterday, #mnleg was set to reconvene—but that didn’t happen. Instead, GOP members seized control of the chamber, claiming authority, and attempting to override the will of the voters.

It was a straightforward and illegal power grab that is likely to be thrown out by courts.

And we do research, like white papers about local climate action, and adaptation and resilience.

We've done things like immersive art experiences, comedy shows, concerts, and zines. We've done artist-designed mail and made planners.

Because we know to change everything, we need everyone.
