Hildebrand Manderville, The Cabbage Merchant, and Spider-Man Noir are a few that I feel were designed with what the legend wants to do in mind instead of "lets make the next best adventure/food/surveil commander." I'm hoping that this trend bleeds back into the design for MTG legends.

I've expressed similar w/ the people I play with.
I do see some things that I enjoy in MTG design as a result of universes beyond.
The first is I get to see more legends with designs that reflect what the lore/flavor of that character wants, rather than being shoved into an existing archetype.

"hard to cast" is a 60-card problem. I think WOTC struggles to remember that.

So, the 2 that weren't selling would get marked down to cost, and the other 3 would get a mark-up to justify paying for all 5 from distributors. Or, the poorly selling decks would get gutted and listed on tcgplayer or tossed in a bulk bin.

I used to run a FLGS, and the commander stand-alone products would become a nightmare to stock after the initial release.
Distributors would only sell you the set of decks. A common issue was "3 of these decks sell like fire, but we still have 30 copies of the other 2."

20.5% of Zurzoth decks run Liquimetal Torque. All of them would love to see Shenanigans in the graveyard.

Shenanigans is only being played in 5.7% of Zurzoth, Chaos Rider decks on Edhrec.
With the (mostly) symmetrical disruption Zurzoth brings to the table, Shenanigans is an excellent way to further break the parity of Zurzoth's second ability and maintain access to interaction through the game.

Lorwyn is looking gorgeous, and I like the lever they put on the new transforming legends.
I'm hoping the next Strixhaven set explores more of the world, especially the old lore.
Shoveling Universal Beyond into >50% of the line-up isn't the way I wanted WOTC to solve product fatigue for me

These are pretty tacky.
But, what if they commit to the bit and make Pizza-shocks with toppings on each half representing their colors?
Watery Grave, anchovies on half, mushrooms on half.

I play Chaos Warp as a Counterspell, don't @ me.
