Loss aversion is real, and we are taught how to add and not subtract. Write more, delete rarely. Afraid of making mistakes, which is ironic, cuz it’s relatively easy to recover deleted code.

I experienced this today, and had to consciously push through those feelings. Was a relief when it was done.

E.g. in those teams we were actually delivering value to our users usually (there were exceptions, but that was... yep, exceptional) every few MINUTES by default. Sometimes (less often) every few hours. Not days. Certainly not weeks. MINUTES.

No rocket-science here, but a lot of discipline 🙏🏽

I have found issues with the values, principles and practices themselves, even when avoiding the keywords 😕 There have been situations where people thought I was lying or talking from theory when describing my real day-by-day ways of work of the last years... 🤦🏽

This last year I have been searching for a new job during several periods.

I can undoubtedly affirm that showing experience and a strong mindset in a combination of XP+LeanSwDevelopment+"good agile"+... principles and practices is MUCH more of a disadvantage than a benefit in 99% of the companies 🙃

One of my many concerns about the intensive use of LLMs is how it will impact the communication BETWEEN humans. IMO some recommendations for using with LLMs are anti-patterns in the scope of a human communication (e.g. using imperative language, avoiding "please", etc.) 🫣
