Hopefully he gets a few appearances over this season, and the mini season. I’m hoping he’s ready for more regular minutes by next summer.

I’ll also add my initial reply wasn’t suggesting that I thought Picard deserved more playing time than Habroune. I just think both deserve game time, and they will both play a big part for us next season.

I agree he wasn’t amazing, but like I said I think the lack of a 9 really hurt him. From what I read about him at Guingamp he primarily played LM in a 4-4-2 where he had two 9s to create for. He had nobody in the box here, and that’s something I think the whole team struggled with in the final 3rd.

I think he will develop a good relationship with WAA this season.

He had some flashes, but he didn’t come in to the best circumstances. He is young and adapting to a new league. We also all know how long it takes players to adapt to Nancy’s style of play. Also, he is a creative winger playing in a team that lacked a number 9 to create for.

Both the Schulte and Arfsten extension happened long after Bez left. I’m also not sure what you have against Picard. Him and Habroune have similar numbers.

Cucho was on the last year of his contract. Denkey is under contract until 2029. It’s really that simple.

It’s ridiculous that they don’t want to sell. He never plays, and is out of contract in the summer.

This could be a decent Nagbe replacement depending on the fee and wage.

It’s not worth it to invest a lot into a long term backup 9 when we have Adams coming through.

I don’t even consider JRR to be very physical, or good in the air. So I am very much on board with that idea.

I’m not against a taller striker, but I’m more concerned about the quality of that striker. Aliyu simply isn’t good regardless of height.

Height ls not the problem with Aliyu, it’s purely down to quality.

Realistically, we probably shouldn’t even spend that much unless we are planning on playing with two 9s. Otherwise, my hope is Adams can start getting regular minutes in the next year or two. Until then I’d be happy with a Ramirez type signing as a short term backup.

I agree on selling him, but he’s one of the lowest earners in the team and he’s homegrown. He really doesn’t free that much roster space.

It won’t be hard to find a worthy replacement based of his performances last season.

That’s true, but I think there’s a lot of reasons for that. For one he was playing way more central than he was used to. He is also a very creative player in a team that was desperately lacking a good 9.

Picard is very underrated.

Rossi got 20 league g/a in his last two seasons, and he has been very good for us. We payed 7.5 million for him so 14 g/a for a 2.5 million player isn’t bad. Gazdag is one of the cheapest dps in the league.

What part do you disagree with?

14 league g/a wouldn’t be terrible for a 2.5 million player. That’s very cheap for a DP.

He’s definitely going to be here until at least the summer, so there’s no point worrying about it now. We just gotta get behind him until then, and reassess in the summer.
