It was very full on.

Day 2: Up and out at 5am, 20kms walked, David Niven found through Casablanca's doors, via the Chateau Marmont.

This trip for Thérence and me is something of a pilgrimage, so forgive the self-indulgence.

The hotel I'm standing in is The Roosevelt, home to the first Academy Awards in 1929.

There was a time, not that long ago, when travel for me was everyday. A punishing schedule, but I handled with, ahem, good humour.

Not anymore. Sunday Tours to Paris, Monday Paris to London to Manchester to London, Tuesday London to Paris and at some point home.

I'm very tired.
