Setting up office in random places. I used to do this during my PhD as funnily enough it made me a far more productive and focused writer, and I'm excited I get to do this again for the next 2 years. Museums, cafés, train stations and trains, parks, seaside benches, tents...

Extremely poor as a consultation. It begins from the position that the extension to the period required for citizenship is a given, and asks only if you believe exemptions should (continue to be) made for certain groups. Respondants should be very careful about how they reply.

Sharing the love for the phonetics of talk-in-interaction this week at the LOT Winter School in Amsterdam. Grateful that I get to help linguists see that there's so much more to the phonetics of turns than intonation, and that interaction, actually, is not 'messy' if you study it by its own rules.
