Yesterday crossed off a big name T206 for my set build. My newest T206 HOFer is one I didn’t think I’d cross off this year. It’s one that also helps with the Tigers team set. This stunning Red Cobb joins his stellar bat on brethren. Anyone got a Green Cobb or bat off Cobb that’s just his nose up?😂

I can’t say I’ve heard that before. At the same time, I’m not surprised that Bill Veeck would have been that owner who would try to pull this off either at that time. Pretty cool factoid here.

They really are outstanding! My oldest daughter will pull up a lot of newer SNL sketches on YouTube and some of them have been her sketches. Celine Dion singing about MMA and the UFC had me rolling! 🤣

Thanks! Compared to a lot of other HOFers, his Venezuelan cards aren’t too terribly expensive. His 60 Topps and 64 AL Bombers card are probably his two most expensive. I haven’t spent more than $50 on a card of his outside of 1960 so far. The Venezuelan Topps Facebook group has them often for sale.

My wife and I watch this every year and we always talk about the ridiculousness of the movie. For one, the reason you stated. But two, my brother was in the Peace Corps and met his wife while doing that. And there is no way barring a family emergency, that he could have came home after a month. Lol

The Green Cobb in that grade is just bonkers, knowing that you’re doing two of each to keep your Tigers and T206 sets separate. Awesome pickups!

My Venezuelan Topps Kaline collection has grown in recent weeks. Today’s mailday brings me to 8/14 Venny’s he’s tied to and 3 of the remaining are team cards. So 5 of them won’t be bad $ wise but the 6th is the 64 Bombers and there’s 2 Yankee power guys on it that make it $$$😂 #cardsky

I’ve got some low grade double vision after today’s mail arrived. My newest T206 addition is the dark cap variation of HOF’er Christy Mathewson. This one’s awesome as it’s a polar bear back. Those backs are one of my favorites! He pairs nicely with his white cap brethren. #cardSky

Been a year since I’ve purchased a T206 HOFer for my build, I was overdue😁. Couldn’t pass up a cheap price on a slabbed HOFer. This is card #120 for the set. It will not be my final HOFer of the year. The coming weeks will have a lot of PC additions and a 1936 HOF inductee😏🐻‍❄️

I’ve heard of its existence but have never brought myself to watch it and I’m happy with that. It’s like there is an actual “Christmas Story 2” that came out like 12 years ago. Watched it once, became enraged, and have chosen to forget it. Now “A Christmas Story Christmas”, that’s a nice movie.

Thank you! I tried winning one on heritage last weekend that kept going high and this one at a show today floored me. I was fully prepared to downgrade my card to try and get a signed copy, as I’ve got a PSA 3, but this is great and not much of a “downgrade” and for a perfect price too.

Not too often is a raw card of a HOF RC an upgrade over a PSA 3 RC, but my pickup at a show today was one of those instances. Some guy scribbled on it though, but it goes along with some of the other Kaline’s I’ve got that were scribbled on as well😁 #cardSky

His T206’s are surprisingly “affordable” for a player of his stature. I’m a low grade collector. So my Crawford’s weren’t expensive 😂

Thanksgiving arrived a little late this year. I’ve loved this image since I started building the Tigers T206 team set and decided to do a side project and get other versions of this image. Had to get the Turkeys of Wild Bill and Rube together, along with the other throwing images so far. 😁 #cardsky

Had a few envelopes in the mail the last week and a half, and everything’s here now. Another 8 to the T206 set build. And because I’ll buy before checking my list and will also grab cheap deals even if it’s a duplicate, I’m at 119 instead of 120. Mr. Downs is a duplicate 🤦🏻‍♂️😂 #cardsky

A cool T206 mailday.I’m doing this low grade & wouldn’t normally pick up a single duplicate, especially if it’s rougher(I looked at my list wrong and thought I didn’t have him 😂). But when the card on the right popped up for cheap, I had to grab a new back! #cardsky

I like portraits but the sunset images are action shots and those are incredible! So I’ll go action shots.

Congrats!!! That’s one of my most favorite sets of the 60’s. It’s also not as frustrating as other years as well. I pretty much built the whole set twice😂.
