Congrats!!! That’s one of my most favorite sets of the 60’s. It’s also not as frustrating as other years as well. I pretty much built the whole set twice😂.

I agree but there is an argument to be made that these museums have so many artifacts that barely see the light of day. So an item like this could actually be enjoyed and treasured in someone’s personal collection more than a quick museum glance.

I’m not one to collect unopened wax, I don’t have that self control😂. But I do have one piece of unopened stuff and it’s this 87 Topps rack pack. I was a big McGwire fan growing up and for $2 at an antique store a few years ago, this was an easy grab.

Even if he hadn’t pitched likes been recently for SF, I’d have to think that his presence in the locker room would have helped fire up the players and it certainly would have created extra excitement amongst fans that the players could then feed off of.

Jolene by Dolly Parton is a great choice for a funny walk up song. I went to a Reds-Cardinals game in Cinci a couple years ago and Joey Votto had that as his walk up and I died of laughter as the speakers blared loudly “Jolene…Jolene…Jolene…Jooooooleeeeeene…..”😂

They are still in a good spot but when they have 6 games left with their biggest competition and the team has truly been Skubal or nothing the last 2.5 months, it’s certainly not ideal to limp into the post season like this.

Can’t go wrong with an EPDG HOFer. The only two EPDG’s I’ve got, ironically are also HOFers. Great pickups!

T206 Tigers team set, minus 3/4 Cobb’s. I’m up to 108 cards on my lifelong build of the 520 set. A long way to go there😁

Not one that I know. 😂 I got it from @wiredtiger.bsky.social last year and he got it off eBay. It seemed to have been glued to a scrapbook and I think the person that removed it from there, just hacked it out and that’s why it’s cut up. Made it an “affordable” Cobb.😁

I feel like I enjoy the hobby more now as I’m not just trying to find that random high number to fill a binder page. Now I can slowly look for things and pick up a card when I have $30-50 sitting around. I don’t have multiple projects ongoing this way.

I totally get that. There comes a point as a set collector where it’s not so much financial but a space issue. I was nearly complete from 69-present when I pulled the plug on Topps builds. I sold off most to put towards T206. It will be a lifetime build that makes the occasional pickup feel great.

Hard to pick one. So we’ll go with the Tigers T206 team set, minus 3/4 Cobb’s, the signed RC’s from 78 Topps of the core 4 of the 84 team, and a signed Lauren Taylor Illustrations print of Miguel Cabrera to top things off. And this is me not including my Kaline collection.😂

Honestly, with how Topps does cards. If he gets a card in update or series 1 next year, it will be in a tigers jersey or a bad airbrushed jersey. Lol

It’s been awhile since I’ve picked up a T206 for the build and I’m really happy with this one. It’s got character like most of the others I’ve got but when a super cheap Southern Leaguer pops up on eBay, you have to hit BIN. Happy to add my second Southern Leaguer to the build. #cardsky

Hey it’s understandable. The lore and tales of Satch I’m sure often times have had him being in two places at once😂. So it makes sense that a map could have a mixup. This is truly an incredible undertaking and awesome project.

This is incredible! These two spots need to be moved on the map. I was about to take a detour after work today 😂 but these need to be on the Grand Rapids MI spot of the map. Still amazing work though!

Agreed on the black backs. Obviously for Venny’s it makes it one of the easiest years to identify, along with 62, but they just look so good!

Today’s mailday brings me my third Venezuelan Topps Al Kaline card with this 1967 Topps. I didn’t plan on my T206 pickups taking a break but I couldn’t pass up some of these recent giveaways of these rarer cards😂. Happy to pick away at the Venny Kaline run. #cardsky

So impressive!! I would love to get my hands on a T204 at some point. Your team sets are even more impressive considering you’re a mad man that did the T206 Tigers twice to keep the team set separate from the 520. 😂. I always love seeing your posts of your collection.
