..USA är inte på något sätt demokratiskt heller, för övrigt, och var det inte före Trump heller. Sann demokrati kräver att folk förstår, deltar i och beslutar om samhället. Inte bara de ytliga grejerna som rösträtt och en författning som i teorin tillåter demokrati.

Absolut. Jag förstår inte om jag sagt något som motsäger detta? Jag menar att kapitalism I sig inte är att kräva höga skatter som ska gå till.. oligarker. Den sortens öppen korruption är inte den vanligaste. Utom i Sverige då.

Ja, korruption är iaf en oundviklig konsekvens av kapitalism som inte kontrolleras och styrs noggrant av ett demokratiskt samhälle. Eller en konsekvens av kommunism som ju inte heller styrs av ett demokratiskt samhälle (inte att förväxla m socialism, som är en i grunden demokratisk ideologi). >

Does anyone have experience with redrawing data from someone else's paper and wanting to reuse it, and then being asked to pay by the copywrite holder? I was under the impression that it was fair use to reuse data in this way. For the record: I haven't published yet, so could still take figure out!

A publisher doesn't own the data you (fairly) reuse. They own the copyright of the *article*. So, this simply cannot be right. Pure extortion.

Knappast kapitalism, snarare kommunism, men utan den ideologiska biten ("till var och en efter behov") och istället helt öppet "Från var och en efter förmåga, till oss oligarker".
