Power concedes nothing without a fight. The news of the draw down this morning is a development that was won by the power of neighbors joining together to keep each other safe. We celebrate the wins.

Yet we know the threat is not over, and so our fight is not over.

I’ll celebrate when I’m absolutely sure ICE is gone. But then I’m going wild.

My cat is super excited that it’s nice enough outside to be opening some windows.

I think I have a billion dollar business idea. How about this -

A printer. Except it’s a special kind of printer, in that whenever you press the “Print” button, it prints.

4) Fmr. Rep. John Lesch is the GOAT caucus convener. We wrapped up in an hour, and I left full of donuts he provided. I’m told in previous years there was beer.

3) Peggy’s ground game is significantly trailing Angie’s. Before caucus, had at received 4 texts, 3 mailers, and digital presence from Angie. Only 1 text from Peggy. At caucus, Angie had pizza, sambusas, and dedicated representatives. Peggy had one volunteer handing out lit.

2) We are completely unified around ICE Out. The resolutions and conversations made this clear. If you are not meeting this moment as an elected, we don’t want you.

My takeaways from caucus last night - of course, my sample size is 1, so maybe I have an outlier precinct. 🧵

1) republicans are screwed in the midterms. DFL energy is so high. Big turnout, especially among first time caucus goers.

I’m not totally sure how to address this but apparently I’m getting kicked out of ICE rapid response for the moment because I’m allowing press ridealongs, with an extremely strict condition that no other observer be identified. Lots of observers have allowed ridealongs and they benefit us.

i understand why people don’t want to talk to the press now, but will being willing to do so helps get the story out from someone who feels safe doing so. rep brad tabke is also doing a lot of anti ICE work openly under his name and i think this takes the heat off others who don’t want attention

This was a fun event and I’m grateful to the residents of Falcon Heights not just for having us but for the very warm reception on a cold night
