I feel that I should be in front of the fire, and 10 cats could be usefully engaged in removing the snow from the solar panels. Couldn't they pretend it was a giant sloping and very cold litter box?

In this vein -- instead of Musk going to Mars (which would shrink the Earth's orbit to preserve total angular momentum), I propose that he goes live on the surface of Mercury.

Presumably daytime launches have the effect of very slightly increasing the mean distance from the Sun that the Earth orbits.
We should definitely mitigate CO2-drive warming by changing our orbit. Much easier than getting anyone to ... you know ... shift to a lower consumption lifestyle.
