FF7 Remake does a pretty good job of capturing the unnecessary spaces of the original. Not a literal reproduction, but a continuation of the same design values. Big, complex, convoluted, liminal chunks in the level geometry. I've always really enjoyed that.

this area was really compelling, though i wish navigation was a little more fluid and forgiving in this game

Increasingly tempted to start experimenting with a Create: Dismantled datapack which would exhaustively tweak and remove features until Create no longer has any features that undermine other mods. I think it can be done, but it would definitely take a lot of work and experimentation.

Other aliens from your world are also around and in general their attitude is very optimistic and ignorant of any of the deeper vibes of the landscape, to them this is just a cool/weird place to live. Through this the heaviness of the worldbuilding becomes something you bring yourself (2/2)

its rather tame but The Colorado Kid by Stephen King really surprised me with the realism of being faced with the unexplainable, i definitely recommend it
