Photo of 8-foot tall cylinder made of nylon mesh interwoven with fabric strips in brown, gray, black, purple, green and rust colors to look like tree bark. The cylinder/tree trunk is about 10 inches across at the top and 14 inches across at the bottom. To the right of the cylinder/tree trunk is a brick pillar that is a carport roof support. In the background is a short beige brick wall, a row of leafy green trees and lots of bright clear blue sky.
Closeup photo of the lower 3 feet of an 8-foot tall cylinder made of nylon mesh interwoven with fabric strips in brown, gray, black, purple, green and rust colors to look like tree bark. The closeup shows places where fuzzy green and brown yarns have been added to look like mosses. The cylinder/tree trunk is about 14 inches across at the bottom. In the background is a short beige brick wall, a row of leafy green trees and lots of bright clear blue sky.
Nylon mesh interwoven with strips of colored fabric laid flat on a table top. The fabric strips in the bottom half of the photo are in shades of brown, gray, rust, green, black and gray and are mostly parallel with each other. The fabric strips in the top half of the photo are mostly in curved or angular lines to look like tree branches. When finished, this piece will be hung on a round piece of metal and stitched into a tube to look like a tree.
The giant tree soft sculpture is growing! The trunk portion is about finished, and I am building the canopy this week.

I found an identical shirt at a thrift store and have deconstructed it -- by tearing/cutting it into strips -- for use in my current giant tree soft sculpture.

A week's work takes shape.... Here are the first couple feet of what I hope will be a 12-foot tall tree, weaving fabric strips through nylon mesh. Stay tuned.

Time to express your opinion to a U.S. Senator or two or three. Here's a list of senators with a clickable link to their contact form page so you can share your thoughts about them or the Big Bozo and his sidekick First Buddy in the White House. www.thegreatamericanshitshowpart2.com/2025/03/time...

You might want to use some of this info to motivate the folks on the list to start working on ousting the idiots in the White House or to voice your opinions about legislation. And, if you want to do a little role-playing and be Larry Abernathy or Kerry Baker from somewhere else instead of who you are and where you're from because you want to communicate directly with "your" new representative in some new place you've always dreamed of being but aren't quite there yet, this is your chance. When you click on an Email Contact link in the list, you'll typically be directed to fill out an address look-up or address authentication form, using a zip code and address that the contact form recognizes as "local." Feel free to try using the zip code and the address of a representative's office (usually noted somewhere on the congressperson's site or at the bottom of the contact form). Or, if you prefer, look up a library or a 7-11 or a city hall in the district and use that address. Good trouble."
