Totally agree. There's a reluctance to deal with the shades of grey that make up the actual country so they look back to a time of nasty mill owners vrs downtrodden poor, or oppressed victims of colonialism overseas. So much easier than trying to pick through the messy business of people and society

I am mostly a Blair fan. He was on a moral crusade with just as much conviction as people like Corbyn. Too many on the left of the party have allowed his misjudgements to blind them to his clarity of purpose and ability to lead and get stuff done. He did change Britain for the better.

Was there a failure to engage seriously with the positive lessons on the Blair/Brown period? Many in Labour want to distance themselves from the most successful Labour period in my lifetime. The Torys are obsessed with their Thatcherite past. Labour still dreaming of Attlee and the five giants.

JL Carr Map of Yorkshire

Sébastien is well on his way to completing his 2nd FunRun. It would be a huge achievement if he manages to complete a 4th loop. The slowest finisher to complete 3 loops was Travis Wilderboer (2013) in 33hrs-49minutes. We're currently at 33hrs-47min . As far as finishing is concerned, it's over.
