I spent the week at the police surveillance convention and let me tell you my biggest observation: The name of the game now is consolidating as much information as humanely possible from surveillance devices, the internet, other governmental data, and literally a million other places. 🧡

20 years ago we were suing teenagers for millions of dollars because they were torrenting a single Metallica album and now billionaires are demanding the free right to every work in history, so that they can re-sell it.

The law only ever serves capital.

I don't think shame is a bad motivator at all. I think it's so effective that the overculture got us not to do it because there's SO much complicity people should be ashamed of, and to atone for it would require them to dismantle every aspect of the society into which they were indoctrinated.

My 0% Unemployment Plan

Republican candidate for Governor of California Kyle Langford stands in front of a Nazi concentration camp and proposes sending unemployed and homeless individuals to be incinerated there.

Distancing yourself from disabled / chronically ill ppl is also why the majority don’t wear a mask in public spaces

They subconsciously or consciously go β€œthey’re immunocompromised, I’m not like them”

You’re more like us than u want to admit

Each COVID reinfection increases your risk of LongCOVID

As a very random example of how Long COVID has impacted the places you’d expect the least.

RARBG, one of the most famous piracy collectives, distributers, and websites, shut down in part because some of its members were too disabled by COVID to continue the project.

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

50% of us will have Long Covid after Covid!

"It has recently been observed that approximately half of recovered COVID-19 patients continue to experience at least one long-term symptom (...)

half of survivors still have a high burden of either physical or mental sequelae up to at least 12 months".

Covid just does not give a f*** what your life was like before. Long covid tears through athletes like they were couch potatoes. Type A folks as if they we slackers. Trying harder doesn’t fix LC. There is no fix, except time and luck.

All disabled people are deserving of life, love & care.

The narrative that β€œlow functioning” people who don’t pay taxes, won’t serve in the military & can’t live independently are somehow expendable is deeply rooted in eugenics.

A person’s worth isn’t tied to their health or economic contribution

Somehow, the future is both going to be a dystopian techno sci-fi hellscape AND we're gonna have coal and measles and robber barons and a permanent underclass.

The cool thing about liberal β€œdemocracy” is people like Henry Kissinger can be a state department fixture for years, never having been elected by the people, killing people and toppling governments all over the globe, and some don’t think that’s β€œauthoritarian”
