BBC Sounds Sports Extra and Extra 2 from 1055. You’re frustrated with the BBC website and I’m frustrated I can’t give you the full facts which might alter your view. But together I hope we can enjoy what we can together.

Professional integrity means I must be careful but link Annie’s post with yours and I think the problem of awareness and interest beyond county cricket becomes clear…..

The new terms of the BBC deal with the ECB/Counties means the BBC isn’t able to provide the long established coverage until the Knock out stage.
There will be some live coverage on BBC Sounds and if interested keep an eye on the schedule; starting tomorrow.

I can’t match knowledge & relationship colleagues hold with their respective county cricket audience.
I am though with some familiar voices going to bring coverage of one game per day, where possible, in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

Well I didn’t know but I can guess the booking was until 2030, as the game should have finished much earlier. It’s a reason not an excuse and although not my place to do so; I’m very sorry that happened and apologise to you and others affected.

But why would 12 clubs vote for that? Not challenging you just wondering if that can get through? If so what would the trade off/incentive be?

Less so but I think telling; it shapes attitudes & investment from some media executives & influencers, now occupied by social media & other data.
Those influencers have at best lukewarm attitude to the less lucrative county cricket; so I’m not sure any criticism will be widely heard…
