This is how I've always thought it'd work too, every series has it own melodrama so a narrative focused system (something like aspects ala Fate) is the most important thing. The second is that the core system covers the differences between being in/out of the mobile suit. Everything else is setting.

Yeah it's probably the worst thing about the ending. Like we're already going to have to put up with all prior depictions of Amuro being tainted by Furuya being the VA but they should have taken the opportunity to just pull the trigger & recast even if it wasn't smooth. But it is what it is I guess.

I hope they stick the landing, but either way this episode still was immensely enjoyable for an enfranchised fan like me. I hope that new fans were able to enjoy it as well!

Whether the show actually sticks the landing is going to come down to whether the final conflict is determined by the new characters or the legacy ones.

One feels like reinforcing a brand & the other is breaking out of the proverbial moebius loop UC Gundam is stuck in.

What I think made it work for me is that the lyrics of Beyond the Time seemingly support the thesis of the show so it didn't feel purely a pull for nostalgia & evoked a deeper meaning for me (plus the song is just an eternal bop I think).

While the latest #GQuuuuuuX episode freaked me out it definitely got me thinking.

I am tired of these kind of multiverse stories immediately eating their own tail & being endlessly self-referential at a franchise level. That said, this one worked for me (I think).

Eventually you'll be strong enough to survive a hit squad from just about anyone in Night City with ease once you have enough cyberware with any build.

But as always with save often & with multiple saves with buggy games!

My 2¢ is that if you should revert to an older save or start over. I'd presume you finished the Maelstrom quest & these are those folks looking for revenge; you could re-engage with that quest seeking a peaceful resolution instead of fighting them since the consequences aren't fair early on.

2077 is a piece of art but like Fallout New Vegas, it's deeply flawed in it's execution (Funny enough F:NV has the same retaliation mechanic w/ the Legion/Rangers). Imo the game is still worth the experience if you can tough it out though.

It's like that bit in Halo where you're back on board the crashed Pillar of Autumn and the Covenant and the Flood are fighting each other, and they're a bit crap at it but still both sides are taking a lot of damage and you can either stay safe and watch or... get in and mix it up a bit.

-Card quality (while some gems) is largely subpar. The ff8 equipment is bulk, the bonus sheet cards are niche bulk, Balamb garden can fit under no FF8 commanders, missing party members, etc
