‘You can’t eat electricity’: how rural solar farms became the latest battlefront in Britain’s culture war Reform UK is exploiting opposition to solar panels – but most farmers are more worried about climate change.

92%: the percentage of funding for Nigel Farage's far-right political party Reform UK that comes from fossil fuel interests.

Across the world, anyone blaming immigrants, etc, it's all just a smokescreen to allow the rich to keep on getting richer by killing our planet.

Government and Gardai have ignored far right violence and threats for too long – does someone have to die for it to be taken seriously?

Green Party Spokesperson for Justice Patrick Costello has issued a statement saying that the recent arson attack and attempted murder of IPAS residents in Drogheda shows how deep violence and hatred has infected Irish society and yet this doesn’t seem a priority for Gardai or from Government.
Costello said “The attack in Drogheda is shocking, but not surprising. This government ignoring right wing violence has led us here, and without meaningful response will only lead to deaths.
Costello continued “There are growing number of vigilante groups setting up across the country with no response from Gardai. There is escalating attacks on migrants on our streets and increasing attacks on the LGBT Community and government don’t respond. These emboldens those who wish to spread violence and hate.”
Costello highlighted the need for action, saying “There are clear drivers of hate that have not been addressed, such as holding social media companies to account when it comes to the spread of disinformation. There is more that can be done, like passing hate speech legislation. Communities need gardai to protect them, not turn a blind eye on vigilante mobs. The Minister has the power under Section 20 of Garda Síochána Act 2005 to make this issue a priority for Gardai and should use that power. The Minister must act now rather than wait for someone to die”.

Extreme wealth inequality is killing planet Earth, and hijacking political power so as to be allowed continue.

This is the most important thing to understand right now.

The answer to *too many migrants* is to deal with what is causing migration: commercial exploitation, war, climate change, not targeting the victims.

As road fatalities and collisions rise year-on-year, we see plans to lower speed limits abandoned by the Minister of Transport in a pass the buck exercise.

9/10 survive if hit at 30km/h.

3/10 will be killed if struck at 50km/h.

One of the advantages of the 90 minute fare is if you live somewhere great like Inchicore, you can get the bus into town, get what you need, and still get home on the same €2!

Can you imagine TDs scrambling to change the Constitution or commentators hand-wringing in the media if it was leftists who behaved the way the spoiled vote crew did, in the same (minority) numbers, after several bigoted riots. Not so much forced to pander to them as willingly taking a running leap.

The social contract is broken every day by motorists like this - basic respect for other people. The "I'm not queuing in traffic because I'm more important than you" approach to driving. The "Fuck You & everybody else here" approach. The "I need to get to SuperValu before you" approach.
