Not sure everyone is aware but the new ‘owners’ Land Logical of Swanscombe marshes SSSI have this week started erecting fencing at the boat club. They’ve issued an eviction notice to the users, not sure what their next plans are?

Hi Barry, where about did you see it? Spent 2hrs yday in the area where main track crosses the N Downs Way without success

West Kent birding in the rain this morning saw Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, 12 Crossbill north and a Honey Buzzard. Terrible record shot warning ⚠️ ##kentbirding

Extinct moth rediscovered 'by accident' after 73 years A Butterfly Conservation ecologist has spoken of her amazement after she accidentally rediscovered a moth that had been thought to be extinct in England for seven decades. Rebecca Levey found the Dover Twist moth at a nature reserve in Kent. The species not been recorded in England since 1952.

I took the slow ferry from Las Palmas, GC, to Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura, with the hope of seeing some seabirds. My hopes were exceeded with 1 White-faced Storm-petrel, 3 Barolo's Shearwaters, 21 Bulwer's Petrels plus the more expected 100s of Cory's Shearwaters

A fantastic morning on the patch, this crippling male Red backed shrike hopped out in front of me on fox hill down, Langdon cliffs. Later whilst watching it with a small crowd, a female Red foot came over low and continued North,picked up by Paul Holt. #kentbirding #ukrarebirds

So thrilled to have captured this image of iridescence on the wings of these 2 Swallows. It's tricky enough photographing these birds in flight but positioning yourself in relation to the sun a certain way can produce stunning results...
