"These themes reflect Burke’s background in math, gaming, and speculative humor, creating a tone that’s playful yet thoughtful, cozy yet occasionally haunting." -- Grok
Yeah, so be nice, or I'll occasionally haunt you!

I'm "Walkin' in Brooklyn", and my blog has been updated again with a walk from August
Yes, I'm still a bit behind

Another exciting episode of "Walkin' in Brooklyn"
The blog entry (with pictures) is from early August.
Yes, I'm catching up. I did a lot of walking in the summer!

This is Christopher from Brooklyn and I’m kinda sorta in between WIPs at the moment
A couple of projects are calling to me and I need to move forward with something already!

It’s amazing that some “book promoters” don’t know the meaning of “LOL, No.”

And Gaiman has, shall we say, fallen out of favor recently.
Wow. I actually heard from a “Book Marketing Strategist” who sent me a two-page vision.
I’m not convinced they actually read my book, mind you.
I’m pretty sure they read what my editor wrote on the back cover and spun it through AI to compare me with Ray Bradbury, Neil Gaiman, and Italo Calvino
I went there today, a little after noon, and the store was decimated. Empty racks lay on the floor
But there was a cool steampunk coat just hanging there!
The author Christopher J. Burke is wearing a pinstripe steampunk long coat and is standing in front of different background: library, laboratory, street scene

One of these could become an ad for books
Now that I have 5 short fantasy books out, and since I want the next book to be scifi (space or time travel), I’m thinking that maybe I should consolidate these into one larger book for people who people 200-300 pages instead of 50-60.
What do you think?

24.10.2025 22:39 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0A2 I don’t have one. I didn’t plan one and I’m not going to pants one. I do have story started I could expand upon
OTOH, I’m thinking about next Christmas because something that occurred to me last year came up and of course it’s a little late now even for selfpublishing

A1 Not sure where I fall in this
Knows the ending and writes toward it is me but the rest of that isn’t
I’m not much of a pantser except for Prompts and those are the ones I usually can’t do much with because they may be witty but there’s no story there to expand
