Found the Legacy/AOTP Nemesis Prime and Star Saber exclusive, just at my second hand store. Jetstorm has an issue with his head block that causes him to basically always break and O of course broke mine. Fixing him was a rough time.

Chogokin YF-29 Derandall Vallyrie Ozma Lee Custom. I haven't even watched Macross, but I'm a sucker for a forward swept wing. With the journey repairing this took, I have to watch Macross now, cause this toy is my baby. I even scrapped an Eva-00 model kit to fabricate a new shoulder joint (betcha can't see the repair ;3), which feels very fitting to happen to an Evangelion Unit.

There is no pre-concept art. There is concept art. That's where the idea starts. With the concept.

You're using ai for concept art.

Don't let what you percieve to be your skill level hold you back. Do it bad and then do it again. Use it as an opportunity to learn a new skill or technique. You might surprise yourself. Plus you can always come back and do it again and see how you've improved. Make the thing!!!!!!!

Like, if you want to draw convincing creatures, you look at real animals. If you want to draw convincing people, you study real people. If you want to draw convincing robots/armor/vehicles, you're gonna have to study machines. (It's not actually that difficult btw)

Learning how the world and the things in it are put together and how they function is the point of using references, and also what sketchbooks are for. You don't need to take a scientific rigor to that study, but you should be *thinking* about what you're looking at and drawing.

Metroid has roots in Alien, but I don't agree with the majority that Metroid MUST be more or less an adaptation of it; Metroid has even STRONGER roots in 80's sci-fi anime such as Lensman. Prime 4's coolest trick is deciding to build itself around *that* fantasy, of being a badass space superhero.

What I see in Prime 4 is an attempt to merge the disparate halves of Metroid, the moody atmosphere and the campy sci-fi. Samus is often framed in more explicitly super-heroic imagery, and she works with a cast of thinly written but still charming side characters, much like the various Metroid manga.

I was born in 1998, a young kid in 2002, and the things I liked were bold experiments; Transformers Armada, the early years of Bionicle, the *first* Metroid Prime. I am very tolerant of big changes in that way, and I will always appreciate boldness over redoing the tried and true.
