agreed— it’s something certain games like Final Fantasy 5 and 7 (OG) handle really well by virtue of their respective systems and map design

i’ve actually been on the opposite streak where I think having distinct limitations to work around make games immediately more interesting to engage in

plenty of people have waxed poetic about the NES Castlevania jump arc

i think I lean quite heavily on my strengths (shapes, colors, definition) which makes my art look distinct, but also… kinda same-y and boring from my side? it’s not very provocative

if there’s something I truly struggle with in art, it’s perspective

a curse from not using enough references while educating myself, i do wish I knew a healthier way to practice and learn it

any tips would be appreciated
