Unfortunately, if we ever needed proof that our deliveries matter, we have it: Our community leader Milagro shared that a man walking home from the food store with a bag of groceries in his hands was abducted this week. If that were not enough, Milagro's uncle, who lived here 45 years, was taken outside of his home at 6 am on his way to work. She is devastated and heartbroken. Furthermore, Olga, a community leader, who gets me her list of families changed the total, and I asked the reason and she said 5 families were kidnapped. What?! I am gutted to say that just last week a mother was kidnapped at a bus stop and her baby was given to a stranger! I know this because one of our beloved community leaders, Maricela, who lives near the bus stop and delivers food with her baby on her back, told me. She says, Me estan persiguiendo / They are pursuing me. Thankfully, the stranger who was given the baby called our trusted partner Casa Chirilaga and the baby is now with their family. I met Maricela when she was pregnant and I delivered food to her. She has been with us ever since, non-stop ensuring families denied their humanity are shown love and care with our food. Yesterday, Bluesky moderators warned me about broken guidelines but cited vague rules without specifics. I asked for clarity and objective criteria, as subjective rules hurt trust.
