I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

I wrote a bunch of big ones early in the AI bubble, and it's exhausting, especially dealing with the pro-AI goofballs in the comment sections. But... yeah, I think it's important for more voices to speak up, and I know rather a lot about the whole "being a working novelist" thing, hah.

Like having Ed Zitron and other big AI critics out there (Brian Merchant, This Machine Kills, etc) is great, and really helped me focus on my actual fiction again, which is great, but this new scam is very much in my wheelhouse, unfortunately.

Goddamnit now I need to write another giant goddamn essay about why AI novel writing is bullshit.

I hate having to be "the AI hater guy" in my niche subgenre, but someone's gotta goddamn do it, and not enough others are stepping up in Progression Fantasy or LitRPG.
