Is there a fix? I'm not sure. I'm underwhelmed by DSA and have been ever since it was DSOC (primarily because I heard a lot of the "only the class revolution matters" rhetoric from DSOC/DSA types).

The growing dependence upon consultants and pundits.
Avoidance of issues such as cannabis legalization, penal reform, racial inequity and problems with an aggressive and militaristic foreign policy (amongst others).

Controversial political thought here: the Democratic Party has never fully recovered from the McGovern loss in 1972.
Think about it.
The immediate reaction was to attempt to restrict younger voices from having influence (something I observed personally).

As for living up to the platform, well, it depends on the individual elected official. The ones in my state are doing pretty well at that, and they're the ones I can influence.
