In happier news, it's the 40th anniversary of this masterpiece. I was 16 when it was released, fell in love with it immediately, and it remains one of my favorite albums of all time ever.

Let's exchange the experience

I always love those lists of "35 under 35," but as I get older, I find that I would love to know about innovations/art from people over 65. "65 over 65" please. Elders have incredible ideas that are the result of having seen the full lifecycle of previous ideas and learned from it.

My husband is making homemade* hamburger helper (with cavatappi - my favorite pasta shape!) It's one of my favorite comfort meals and I'm so thankful in this moment.

*i.e., not from a box-mix but with actual ingredients: onion, garlic, cheese, cream, tomato paste + the meat and pasta of course

There is, as of right now, no coverage of this protest on the WaPo website or in their @washingtonpost.com feed.

So, if you (you reading this) want people to SEE this protest, you must share it.

Hot here in DC, and people still gathering, but itโ€™s a good crowd. Another 15-20 mins before the march is supposed to start. This, along with a Palestinian flag, is the biggest banner in the park.

About nine days ago I finished the first draft of a novel - it needs so much work but I'm clear on what to do.

As a palate cleanser I started a novella and in a week have written 21k of a projected 35k. This one's just pouring out. Loving it. ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ”ฎ

you have done neither. You have stood before us and

you have done so. You have cast aside their offal and
simultaneously chided us for our waste. You then
told us that, coincidentally, you owned the river, and
our parents should have gotten us the same if we
wanted fish. You gave a man a fish to murder us if
we step too close to the river, or speak too loud, or
eat a fish from another river. You've copyrighted the
fishing net. It costs us fish to leave."

hey maybe you remember Chris Smalls when he was organizing in Amazon warehouses. and maybe you, like me, thought, wow this man is a hero. and then he left with the freedom flotilla and they were kidnapped by the IOF.

call the state dept and demand he be brought home: 1 (202) 647-6575

51. SFF (but particularly fantasy) needs a sense of mystery to work. don't go to every place on the map. don't explain everything. don't have a magic "system". this isn't math class, I don't need to see how you got this result. in fact, I hope you multiply x and y and end up with red

The Columbus Book Festival was a blast - well run, with an enthusiastic and supportive audience. I met so many readers and fellow authors, and they sold out of both my books. I sent quite a few folks to @bookshop.org as an alternative. Thanks for having me Columbus!

Hey, remember when the Panama Papers were released and they showed how basically every wealthy person on the planet was avoiding taxes by offshoring their money and nothing was done about it except the reporter who broke the story was murdered with a car bomb?
