At 3:30pm on Saturday 27th, we will be rallying at the Wheel of Liverpool to protest against the Labour Party's decision to cancel the Women's Conference. It must be reinstated, and it must be trans and non-binary inclusive. Details below π
22.09.2025 15:37 β π 4 π 3 π¬ 1 π 057% of our members voted to not endorse any candidate, with 43% voting to endorse Lucy Powell. Out of the members who voted in the ballot, 0% voted for Bridget Phillipson.

Our members have had their say - and Pride in Labour is not endorsing any candidate for the Labour Party deputy leadership. It's obvious that the threshold to run in internal election is leaving members with poor choices to vote for.

Alex Charilaou (they/them) Alex is Co-Chair of Labour for Trans Rights and has been a trans rights activist within the Labour Party since 2020. They were also the National Labour Students Trans Officer for two years. They are also a Non-Portfolio Officer for Pride in Labour.
Last but not least, we have Alex Charilaou, the Co-Chair of @labour4transrights.bsky.social and a fantastic force for good within the Labour movement.
29.08.2025 09:01 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Cllr. Georgia Meadows (she/her) Georgia is the Trans Officer for LGBT+ Labour and has stood up for the rights of trans people, despite the lack of action by the committee more generally. She was PPC for Witney in 2024, a constituency where she now runs a support group for local trans and non-binary people. She has also advocated for neurodiverse people and care leavers, groups she is also a part of.
Next up is Cllr. @georgiameadows.bsky.social, the current trans officer for @LGBTLabour. Despite setbacks within LGBT+ Labour, she has always remained an unstoppable force and fierce voice.
29.08.2025 09:01 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Cllr. Kaz Self (she/her) Kaz is the first trans woman elected as councillor in Bristol. She is a passionate advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion (DEI). She was involved in a local trans pride for five years and helped organise Bristolβs first trans rights protest. She has campaigned for improved trans healthcare, noting that waiting times to get a GIC in the South West are amongst the worst in the country.
We are delighted to welcome Cllr. @kazself.bsky.social, a Labour Councillor in Bristol and a powerful trans voice within the Labour Party.
29.08.2025 09:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 1Avery Greatorex (she/her) As a student activist and an officer for the University of Lancashire Studentsβ Union, Avery has made a push to ban conversion therapy a priority within the student movement, solidifying trans rights as a key fight for the National Union of Students. As Co-Chair of Pride in Labour, she has strengthened grassroots activism, trade union ties, and regional networks to ensure it remains a powerful voice for LGBTQ+ members.
Next is @averygreatorex.bsky.social, who is the Co-Chair of Pride in Labour, an officer at the University of Lancashire Studentsβ Union and a fierce trans rights activist.
29.08.2025 09:00 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Jamie Strudwick (he/him) Jamie is the founder and co-chair of Pride in Labour and has been involved in activism on and off for ten years. He started advocating for young peopleβs mental health before getting involved in LGBTQ+ activism in 2023. In July 2024, he set up Pride in Labour in response to ongoing transphobia within Labour. His professional experience is in the health and social care sector, working for both the NHS and as a senior care worker.
First up is @jamiestrudwick.bsky.social, founder and Co-Chair of Pride in Labour. He has a decade of experience in activism and a professional background in health and social care.

Jamie has outlined his reasons in a thread on Twitter which you can access below π (2/2)

Statement Regarding Co-Chair Jamie Strudwick Pride in Labour can confirm that Jamie Strudwick, founder and Co-Chair of the organisation, has taken the personal decision to resign his membership of the Labour Party. Jamie will continue to serve as Co-Chair until the organisationβs next AGM, scheduled for February 2026. This decision has been made to honour his elected mandate and to ensure continued leadership, organisational stability, and a smooth transition for the next leadership team. Jamieβs decision reflects his own political journey and does not change the values or aims of Pride in Labour as an independent network committed to LGBTQ+ rights, solidarity, and equality. As ever, Pride in Labour remains focused on amplifying LGBTQ+ voices, and building a more inclusive and just future for all.

We are disappointed that Stephenson has been appointed as EHRC Chair despite concerns raised by parliamentary committees. These processes are in place for a reason - and have been ignored. It's unacceptable, undemocratic, and sets a very concerning tone.

Sexuality and gender identity are not things to be 'cured'. Yet each day that passes, more and more people are forced to endure so-called "conversion therapy". Labour can stop this, but they're delaying. #EndConversionTherapy
