There are plenty of other terrible things about generative AI but overall my objection to it is spiritual and I just can’t really get into arguments about that. That objection doesn’t extend to every use case for it, but as far as generating anything “imaginative”, those are all graven images to me

Evil cannot create anything new, it is a parasite on what is good. It can only take what is good and warp and corrupt it toward evil ends.

AI is definitionally evil and cannot be anything else.

One thing I take from the Psalmist is that it’s canonical to bully God a little.

I read once that narcissists receive a sort of sexual pleasure from denying sex to women who want to sleep with them, reveling in the power and dominance of the act instead. It feels like that is also part of why they do it, and which their audience of narcissists intuitively understands.

The unfortunate answer is that it's usually because they found a security bug severe enough that they don't want to wait to fix it. I would also theorize that the use of AI in development makes these sorts of bugs more likely. Doesn't necessarily mean the bug was ever exploited in the wild though.
