Wow, y’all really went from “we have confirmed it was an antifascist trans person because of markings” to “we have zero comprehension of this clearly random and incomprehensible act” as soon as it turned out he was a white right-winger.

It didn't surprise me that Fox News took about 15 minutes from the time of the shooting to blame trans people, but what DID surprise me was how fast mainstream news outlets bought into the misinformation and started spreading it. Here's what actually happened:

It’s important to remember cisgender women getting hurt by this is a feature not a bug as it both makes trans women fearful of existing in public and signals to cis women how they must act to be protected by the state.

Personally, I feel like I learned how to be a man by reading fiction. Specifically, by reading stories from the perspective of male characters as written by female authors. That sweet spot is *chef's kiss*

The funny thing about the idea Claire shared in this thread (that men just want to act like they're 14 again), is that trans guys ALSO want boyhood, except most of us never had it! We piece it together by looking at it backwards and through the knowledge of the harm toxic masculinity can cause.
