Semenyo playing centrally and Marmoush starting on the wing are certainly choices. Not good ones, but definitely choices.

Don’t get this trend of doubling up defenders on an opposition winger while leaving a totally unmarked midfielder at the top of the box ready to shoot. Zubimendi should have had pressure immediately but the help defender was sucked too far out wide unnecessarily.

Can only imagine how many more set piece goals the Sounders would have over the last few years if they had Leyva on the ball instead of Rusnak.

Also we haven’t really shaken up the starters on the backline in 4 years. Kalani did a decent job last yr to be a contributor but the left side has been stagnant for way too long.

Yeimar is good but I don’t think he can stay healthy for a full season nor has his form been as consistent as before.

This is maybe my biggest concern with the squad going into 26. Pinning our hopes of better defense on old guys rediscovering form (Yeimar, Kim), or unproven guys taking a big step up.

True but for a team that has lagged on spending money on DPs every bit of money in the door should help with that. And fans need to demand it when we know the team has filled its coffers.

Yes agreed. I’m just troubled by this pattern of the sounders FO being let off the hook. Was seeing ppl downplay how bad it would be if he were to leave on a free.

Also maybe not a great look that the player doesn’t trust that the FO could get him to a desirable destination while under contract!

Fair or not we keep getting these cases where the FO doesn’t seem up to standard. They keep falling short of fan expectations (Chu transfer out, JMo DP escalator, lack of xfer spending, u22 moves).

I wanted this to happen after club World Cup so happy it looks like it’s gonna. Would have been even better if they paired it with a deal for Angel Correa instead of him leaving for Tigres.

The bigger issue imo is how the FO let things get to this point.
