Registration for #ViCEPHEC25 closes **today**. Over 200 people have already signed up, making this one of biggest ViCEPHECs ever. This is your last chance to join us in Liverpool this August.

We're making a real effort this year to encourage people to come to #ViCEPHEC25 the day before the academic programme starts. Wednesday is a relaxed time where people can mingle and decompress from their journey.

But if you want to go into the abandoned train tunnels (NOT haunted) that's cool too.

Projects and Funding Here we catalogue funding opportunities, and the projects with which HEG have been involved or for which HEG have provided funding.

The RSC Higher Education Group offers £100 bursaries which can be used for #ViCEPHEC25 attendance/travel.

The day before #ViCEPHEC25, many people come to spread out their conference travel, meet up, and attend the HEG meetings of the IOP and RSC. This year, there will also be a small programme of activities.

Jacquie’s talk will provide insight into her unique career path through secondary and higher education, including navigating an education-track academic route to Professor (Education) in Chemistry and further into University leadership roles. She will share some of the obstacles and opportunities encountered along the way. Jacquie will also provide her take on some of the particular challenges we are all currently facing in curriculum design for the physical sciences.

**SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT** The Conference Keynote at #ViCEPHEC25 will be Jacquie Robson.

Jacquie’s talk will provide insight into her unique career path through secondary and higher education, including navigating an education-track academic route to Professor and University leadership roles.

Julie is an Honorary Lecturer of Chemistry at the University of Sheffield, where she has led international teaching initiatives and lab demonstrator training including managing and delivering outreach activities at home and abroad. She is a National Teaching Fellow and Principal Fellow of the HEA Julie’s talk will discuss her own pathway and explore what it means to support other educators in the work that they do. This will draw on her extensive experience in secondary, further and higher education as well as her industrial and international work.

Julie’s talk will discuss her own pathway and explore what it means to support other educators in the work that they do.

Shane’s presentation will explore the complex relationships between science, expertise, policy, and trust. Drawing from a podcast series he hosts - The Trust Race - he will examine whether science is more trustworthy than other forms of knowledge and discuss how to build trust in diverse expertise to address critical global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, health equity, pandemics, AI, and mental health. The talk will conclude with implications for how science education is approached in schools, universities, and in public engagement.
