I’m still not sure about the legends that live on from that era, impact of those years on him, and his children who suffered too because of his trauma was horrendous. But what a brave fight, that made all the difference to story of Finland, his children and grandchildren were born in freedom.

On this day 85 years ago, my grandfather and his peers started their fight to protect Finland.

Fortunately he did not know that he would continue fighting for the next five years bar a short period of respite between the wars. And that the demons would haunt his mind until the end of his days.
