Ja, man hat die Dinge jetzt digitalisiert, aber dadurch werden die nicht unbedingt einfacher oder besser. Tatsächlich betrachte ich viele der Digitalisierungsprojekte eigentlich als Outsourcing an die Bürgerinnen und Bürger. Wenn ich am Flughafen oder am Bahnhof bin, sind in den Toiletten QR-Codes, mit denen man eine App runterladen kann, um dem Management mitzuteilen, dass das Klo schmutzig ist. Ich finde nicht, dass das meine Aufgabe ist. Das müssen die selbst im Griff haben. Es gibt eine App, mit der ich der Bundesnetzagentur mitteilen kann, dass ich in einem Funkloch bin. Es gibt eine App von meinem Gasanbieter, um den Zählerstand zu melden. Man kann sich eigentlich den ganzen Tag damit beschäftigen, die Arbeit anderer Unternehmen und Behörden selbst zu machen. Das Gas ist aber nicht billiger geworden, der Flug auch nicht. Es wird einfach nur outgesourct, und das wird dann als Digitalisierung und Fortschritt verkauft. Man hat davon aber gar nichts.

Shortly before publishing this newsletter, I spoke with analyst Gil Luria, Managing Director and Analyst at D.A. Davidson, and asked him whether the capital was there to build the 17 Gigawatts of capacity that OpenAI has promised. He said the following: No of course there isn't enough capital for all of this. Having said that, there is enough capital to do this for a at least a little while longer. There is quite literally not enough money to build what OpenAI has promised.

I spoke with analyst Gil Luria at D.A. Davidson, asking if the capital existed to build OpenAI's promised 17GW of data centers.
