Dadβs books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending itβs their own fault. So I hope Kemiβs taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. My main takeaway was that the bs was far more widespread than I could ever have imagined. It pretty much cured me of my imposter syndrome. I have definitely worked in a 'duct tape' role recently.

That is, unless we change the voting system so that everyone can be heard.

Here's what they had to say π
How can a UK company make Β£61m of profit without it appearing in the companyβs accounts and without the company paying tax on that profit?
Perhaps by paying it all away to another party. That would be deeply dodgy from a tax perspective (i.e. because a chunk of the profit should have been retained)
We asked Barrowman why he operated identically named companies in different jurisdictions. We said that Smartpay's actions - admitted by them! - looked like fraud.
His lawyers refused to comment. Guess why.
