My 90 yr old grandma recommended this book to me, and I loved it. It truly is a pan-generational coup de coeur πŸ’™

Oh no. I'm so sad it was dull. I thought Kairos was incredible.

Def not a prediction πŸ˜…. Just a list of books I'm looking forward to read.

Update: this book was terrific. I appreciated the discussion of "a disease of injustice," a treatable disease that kills millions due to inequitable distribution of healthcare resources.

It moves really quickly and the stories are well told. I hope you enjoy it.

#currentlyreading and learning from Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green. So far it's a stark depiction of a real killer that so much of the west assumes forgotten.

Still working through the International @thebookerprizes.com longlist. This one was not my favourite, though, as a wayward millennial, it cut deeply.

Another International @thebookerprizes.com longlist treat for the summer. Fast paced meandering. Is that a thing? If it is, Kracht is a master of it. #booksky πŸ–‹οΈπŸ“š

Have you watched any of July's films? Me, You, and Everyone We Know was really important to me in my early 20s.

If you didn't know the name of the place, if you didn't read the street signs or know anything about its history, could you still sense its story?

I learned so much from Ibtisam Azem's The Book of Disappearance.

The Hundred Year House by Rebecca Makkai

The Hundred Year House by Rebecca Makkai

This was a pleasant surprise. I bought this for 1$ at a library sale and enjoyed its contemporary take on Gothic fiction. A nice swift read.
