Don't doubt yourself. These are books that are shared with a child so you can be brave with them.
I loved when my little one was older and he returned to these to them read independently
Now he is 9 we still have some of these books scattered around and he will read them still

So I just looked at photos from when my little one was 3
Emily Gravett - Again, Meerkat Mail
The snowman, journey - ahhhh soon many books! Enjoy.
I would also say look in charity shops too as they don't all need to be new and you know a good book! β₯οΈ

The shape ones are brilliant too from Klassen.
I was just thinking poetry too - there are so many fab books for that age.
Have you got Don't trust fish on the list?

Oh we have this. It's brilliant - I've been sharing it with my wee one since he was about 3 too. I must dig it out and have another look.
They have other great books that are brilliant for that age and above too. There is one with different types of schools (for animals) on each page.

It's brilliant I have a copy. My 9 year old hasn't read it yet but I've shared a few sections with him. Really interesting β

Great topic! I've only read the Artezans from these 4.
I have been delving into Irish authors, I still share and recommend Scottish ones too though.
I don't think I'll have any surprises to share though

Ok, it's a masterpiece.
It's not traumatic but I had to wipe away a few tears as the emotions were so vivid - this is a story that stays with you. @littleislandbooks.bsky.social will there be a sequel? I want more!

Bedtime story continues - Boy at the back of the class is opening up so many conversations.
My little one didn't understand the negative comments from the adults in the story at all, it was really clever how Onjali showed the first definitions of refugee came from things the children had overheard
