Triathlon feels like a journey has gone farcically wrong - you set off on your bike, it broke and you ran for a bit, now for some reason you're swimming to work - whereas biathlon is straight-up assassin training.

5,000m skating is on and the competitors look incredibly chill about the whole thing. (I'm sure that's not true, but they skate one pair at once and there's a real lack of flurry; gliding, hands behind their backs.)

Just watched the episode of Nazis: A Warning From History where Germany falls out with ally Britain (with whom they have a special relationship due to shared culture), despite a weak prime minister's desperate attempts at appeasement.

Her "pivot" to an author coaching business teaching people how to use AI suggests that even this writer knows it's pretty pointless.

I only saw the last ten-ish minutes, so missed them 😕. Just discovered from Wikipedia that the director came straight from making Charade, a film this very definitely is not. But Loren's a joy to watch, I agree.

Gregory Peck has just downed a helicopter with a ladder! The final scene would be a very Bond-esque clinch, but they're in a punt and Peck can't punt.

That sound is the ghost of Emily Brontë, gasping at your temerity. (I do think it's an almost impossible novel to dramatise well, even for people who like the book.)

Next scene has cross-escalator dialogue, as Gregory Peck fights his way down an up escalator while Sophia Loren glides down the down escalator next to it.
Peck: Yasmin, are you trying to tell me something?
