Our cat is obsessed with trying to groom the 12yoβs hair after his swim class. I donβt know if she likes the smell of chlorine or feels duty-bound to clean her human child.
Heβs trying to do homework wearing a toque and the cat sneaks up, filches his hat and starts licking his hair.

Sandi and wife Deb are shoveling a gigantic pile of recycled holly chippings (to make paths through the wood), while laughing about an article by someone who disapproves of gay marriage because of the "hedonistic lifestyle". Then they go chainsaw shopping.

Iβd be remiss if I didnβt say: Many of my teammates for this project, are leaving The Post, some not by choice.
The photo editor was laid off. The project editor was laid off. The consulting graphics editor was laid off. The text editor has a new job.

The disappearing art gallery in your post office
The U.S. Postal Service is home to thousands of historic works of art in post offices nationwide. Hundreds have been lost, sold or destroyed.
To lift the U.S. out of the Great Depression, FDR thought the country needed more than roads and bridges and schools and hospitals.
It needed art.
So he built an art gallery and scattered it across the country β in everybodyβs local post office.

Not a great name, but if you're looking for some gentle, wholesome TV, allow me to recommend Sandi's Great British Woodland Restoration. It's got deer, a working horse with "big, chunky legs" and a bunch of experts trying to breathe life back into 15 acres of woodland.

A lifetime ago, I worked in outdoor touring theatre. We finished work about 10.30pm and would strain every nerve to get to a pub before going back to our tents/scout hut (depending on the venue that week).

Triathlon feels like a journey has gone farcically wrong - you set off on your bike, it broke and you ran for a bit, now for some reason you're swimming to work - whereas biathlon is straight-up assassin training.

5,000m skating is on and the competitors look incredibly chill about the whole thing. (I'm sure that's not true, but they skate one pair at once and there's a real lack of flurry; gliding, hands behind their backs.)

Just watched the episode of Nazis: A Warning From History where Germany falls out with ally Britain (with whom they have a special relationship due to shared culture), despite a weak prime minister's desperate attempts at appeasement.

Gregory Peck has just downed a helicopter with a ladder! The final scene would be a very Bond-esque clinch, but they're in a punt and Peck can't punt.

Next scene has cross-escalator dialogue, as Gregory Peck fights his way down an up escalator while Sophia Loren glides down the down escalator next to it.
Peck: Yasmin, are you trying to tell me something?
Loren: I'm a spy!
